PHUKET, 6 August, 2019 - Kata Rocks recently hosted 12 university students at The Wine Cellar for a three-course Michelin lunch by Chef Thomas Diepersloot from Michelin-starred Restaurant Voltaire in Leersum, the Netherlands.

Chef Thomas, together with Restaurant Voltaire’s Robert Poel, created and served the enthusiastic group who are currently studying hospitality at Prince of Songkhla University, Phuket Rajabhat University and Phuket Vocational College. This is part of the luxury resort's ongoing corporate social responsibility outreach programme to give back to the local community in Phuket.

The three-course menu included a starter of Sea bass, cucumber, dashi, miso, followed by a main course of Wagyu beef tenderloin, five spices, mushroom, pumpkin and concluded with a dessert of strawberries, basil, and shiso.

Kata Rocks Human Resources Training Manager Ms Namtam, welcomed the students and gave them an introduction to the chef’s signature menu plus an overview of Kata Rocks’ Wine Cellar concept.

"Thank you to both Chef Thomas and Chef Robert for this important contribution to hospitality students in Phuket. We hope the students gained invaluable experience at their first opportunity to experience an amazing meal created and served by chefs from a Michelin-starred restaurant," she added.
