PHUKET, Thailand - October, 31st 2016 – Phuket Marriott Resort & Spa, Nai Yang Beach, recently joined forces with local schoolchildren for a major beach cleaning exercise.
Young students and teachers from Phuket’s Gecko School visited the idyllic shores of Nai Yang Beach, on Phuket's West Coast, where they were joined by associates from the resort. Together, this community environmental team helped remove litter from the sand and keep the area pristine for both locals and resort guests alike.
David Ippersiel, General Manager of the Phuket Marriott Resort & Spa, Nai Yang Beach, explained the importance of the beach cleaning initiative.
“From an environmental perspective, maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of Nai Yang Beach is vital. As custodians of the beach, our resort has a responsibility to keep this beautiful stretch of coastline in pristine condition” Mr Ippersiel said.
“Initiatives such as this also give us a wonderful opportunity to develop closer bonds with the local community. We are delighted to join forces with Gecko School and hope to preserve this beach - and the surrounding Sirinarth National Park - for the children’s future" he added.
Phuket Marriott Resort & Spa, Nai Yang Beach is positioned directly on the shores of Nai Yang Beach, overlooking the Andaman Sea.
