Laguna Phuket launched its newest "Laguna Phuket Food & Music Festival" earlier this year as a charity event with a mission of "Nourishing Hearts, Inspiring Dreams" and children of Phuket as beneficiary. Scheduled to take place at the resort's various scenic locations during Friday 3 - Sunday 5 March this year, the inaugural Laguna Phuket Food & Music Festival is a 3-day charity food festival with live music, entertainment and celebrity chef Audra Morrice and stars appearances. The Festival is aimed to heighten Phuket Province's status as a "City of Gastronomy" conferred by the UNESCO, launch and raise funds for "Children First Fund" specially set up to support Phuket orphanages, as well as to create yet another lifestyle destination event within Laguna Phuket resort complex in celebration of its 30th Anniversary in 2017.
Ringing in the mood of festivities on 3 March, various Laguna Phuket's resorts will whip up sumptuous music & pop-up dinners.
On 4 March, the Festival held at Canal Village from 11am - 8pm by the tranquil lagoons will feature 'live' culinary demonstrations by Australia reality cooking competition MasterChef Asia Judge Chef Audra Morrice, pop-up concept food booths serving tantalising international and Peranakan cuisine, food truck and dining garden accompanied by vibrant professional musical performances including bands' performances by aspiring youths. The entry is free, and everyone invited.
The Festival's star-studded Charity Gala Dinner with auctions will be held on 4 March at the resort's grand Latitude Marquee with celebrity stars' appearance such as Fivera, Jazziam, Black 'n' Blue, Gam, Dome, etc., priced at THB 3,000 per person or THB 28,000 for a table of ten. The Laguna Phuket Charity Super Sunday Brunch on 5 March will take place at the contemporary XANA Beach Club, priced at THB 1,950 nett per person and THB 2,900 nett per person with free-flow beverages.
The Festival is also planned as a platform to launch and raise funds for "Children First Fund" specially set up in conjunction with Laguna Phuket's 30th anniversary this year with an objective of "Nourishing Hearts, Inspiring Dreams" to support the nutrition of needy children in Phuket orphanages.
Proceeds from the Festival together with Laguna Phuket contribution will go to "Children First Fund" and monthly contribution of food and necessities will be given to Children First Fund's program partners - the 7 orphanages in Phuket, housing more than 400 orphans and underprivileged children.
Laguna Phuket expects that the fund raised from the Festival will fruitfully support the nutrition of needy children in Phuket orphanages for at least one full year.
The resort also hopes that its newly launched 'Laguna Phuket Food & Music Festival' will become another permanent installation on Phuket tourism's calendar" like its famous annual marathon and triathlon events.
