Phuket, Thailand, 29 January 2019 – Mövenpick Resort & Spa Karon Beach Phuket has once again cooperated with the Thai Red Cross Society to organize a blood donation drive. This quarterly meaningful event is a part of Mövenpick Resort & Spa Karon Beach Phuket’s Corporate Social Responsibility program “Shine”.
On Tuesday, 22 January 2019, team members from different departments gathered at the hotel’s Ballroom III and took part in this noble cause. All the participants went through standard health checks done by the Thai Red Cross Society medical team before donating their blood.
The blood giving campaign received full support from the team and management, and a total of over 8,100 milliliters of blood was collected.
Mr. Harold Rainfroy, General Manager of Mövenpick Resort & Spa Karon Beach Phuket said, “We do value this blood donation drive as a reflection of our commitment in caring for the local community. As part of our social responsibility and community service, we joined hands with the Thai Red Cross Society to encourage our team members to donate and raise awareness on the importance of donating blood to help save lives.”
Mövenpick Resort & Spa Karon Beach Phuket has been active in organizing CSR campaigns and events, to support and empower the local community in Phuket. The hotel’s CSR initiatives include programs involving orphaned children, in collaboration with SOS Children’s Village Phuket and several projects supporting local schools.
The Green Globe Certified resort has also been making great strides in minimizing its carbon footprint by incorporating best environmental practices, including energy-saving and waste reduction programs.
