White Beach Phuket

White Beach, also known as Nai Thon Noi, is a small sandy cove between Nai Thon Beach and Banana Beach on Phuket’s northwest coast. Andaman White Beach Resort stands directly behind the sand, and access from land is through the hotel.

White Beach Phuket, also called Nai Thon Noi, is a small resort-backed cove south of Nai Thon Beach and north of Banana Beach. Sand, rocky headlands and a single hotel define the setting. Land access is through Andaman White Beach Resort; visitors staying elsewhere should confirm permission before arriving.

A small bay between rocky headlands

The beach curves between rocky headlands, with palms and wooded slopes behind the sand. Hotel buildings sit among the vegetation, while the central stretch of shore opens towards the Andaman Sea. The setting is contained, with no beachfront village or row of independent restaurants behind it.

Nai Thon Noi is another name for this smaller cove. It is separate from the longer Nai Thon Beach farther north, where the coastal road runs behind the sand. Banana Beach lies to the south.

Access through Andaman White Beach Resort

The land approach passes through Andaman White Beach Resort, the only hotel on this stretch of sand. The hotel occupies the frontage between the coastal road and the beach, giving the cove a secluded, almost private feel.

Visitors staying elsewhere should contact reception before travelling to confirm permission to pass through the grounds and arrangements for parking. Permission to dine, reach the sand or use hotel equipment should be checked separately; booking lunch does not automatically include loungers, towels or other guest facilities.

Swimming and seasonal sea conditions

The central shore is sandy, while rocks form both ends of the bay. Swimming conditions change with wind and swell; the compact shape of the cove does not prevent waves or currents.

The resort warns of dangerous waves and currents, particularly from May to October, and uses beach flags and warning signs. Follow the guidance at the shore and stay out of the water when red flags are flying. A dry-season visit is not a guarantee of calm conditions.

Loungers, shade and beach equipment

Hotel loungers stand along the back of the beach. Palms and broad-leaved trees line the resort frontage, with shade varying through the day; much of the open sand is exposed to the sun.

The resort advertises kayaks, paddleboards and snorkelling equipment for guests, subject to sea conditions. These belong to the hotel rather than an independent beach-hire service. Facilities for day visitors, including any toilet or shower access, need to be agreed with the resort.

A beach day centred on the hotel

The resort’s beachfront restaurant opens directly onto the sand, with woven chairs, shaded tables and palms behind it. Dining and beach facilities are concentrated within this one property, rather than spread among separate cafés and vendors.

Main Nai Thon Beach to the north offers a different kind of visit, with roadside access and a choice of restaurants and shops. White Beach is more enclosed, with the hotel shaping both access and the time spent on the shore.

White Beach FAQs

Are White Beach and Nai Thon Noi the same place?

Yes. Both names refer to the cove in front of Andaman White Beach Resort. Main Nai Thon Beach is a separate, longer beach to the north.

Can non-guests walk through the hotel to the beach?

Passage should not be assumed. Contact the resort before travelling to confirm whether entry is permitted and where to park.

Does a restaurant booking include sun loungers?

Do not assume so. Dining, beach access and use of loungers or equipment are separate arrangements to confirm with the hotel.
