Yae Beach Phuket: Access, Day Pass and Swimming

Yae Beach is a small cove between Kamala and Patong, with The Naka Phuket directly behind the sand. Its shallow water and rocky seabed limit its appeal for swimming. It makes more sense as part of a hotel stay or day-pass visit than as a separate beach outing.

Yae Beach at a glance. Yae Beach is a small resort-fronted cove between Kamala and Patong. Parking is available at The Naka Phuket, which offers a day pass. Access is awkward, and the shallow, rocky water makes Yae a poor choice for a swimming trip. Nearby Kamala is more practical for a conventional beach day.

The cove below The Naka

The beach curves between rocky, wooded headlands. Sand runs along the resort frontage, with trees and lawns behind it and villas higher on the slope. Large boulders mark the edges of the bay.

The hotel is a prominent part of the setting. Yae’s appeal is closely tied to staying at the resort or spending the day there.

Access and parking

Parking is available at The Naka Phuket. For a non-guest visit, contact the hotel about its day pass and arrival arrangements before travelling.

Reaching the shore is awkward, and Yae is less convenient for a spontaneous beach stop than nearby Kamala.

Shallow water and a rocky seabed

Yae is not a particularly good swimming beach. The water is shallow, with rocks interrupting the sandy seabed. Low tide further limits the water available for swimming.

Calm-looking water does not remove the awkward footing. Check the tide, waves and any local warnings before entering, and avoid swimming when the sea is rough.

Hotel services and the day pass

Food and drink are available through The Naka Phuket. The hotel also offers a day pass, but visitors should confirm its price and inclusions directly.

Ask specifically about toilets, showers and loungers when booking. A restaurant visit or parking arrangement should not be taken to include every hotel facility.

Is Yae worth a separate trip?

Yae is mainly of interest to people staying at The Naka or choosing its day pass. For visitors whose priority is swimming and time on the sand, Kamala is a more practical choice, with easier access and a longer beach.
